And now for something a little different from a couple of my favorite Elves:

"Do you think she's angry?"

"Galadriel?" Celeborn smiled up at his old friend. "Furious, more like. What about Minuial?"

After waiting for him for more than three Ages of the World - how would his wife feel? "Probably the same." Thranduil sighed. "So... What do you think?"

"Not yet."

"Agreed." Each time they agreed, it was a relief.

"But one day, right?"

"Yes."

"Same time next year?" Celeborn rose and brushed dust from his trousers.

"Wouldn't miss it."

"Navaër, mellon nîn."

"Navaër."

Together they walked back to their respective cars, and returned to a world that still needed their efforts.

I really do like this. I was trying to figure out what they meant up until the last sentence. I'm sad to say I didn't get it.

Not yet

LOL! I took this to be two things - they don't want to leave Arda, not yet. And they don't want to face their wives' anger, not yet.

:D
Love it!

LOL, ahmmm. Sorry
It's just that the image created in my mind from this little bit is of these mighty warriors, of whom the dark ones must be terrified (if still around to tell...) and who are probably legends in the far west....
Afraid of the WIVES?????
As I said... LOL :-)
Thank you.

*snort* very funny, and fitting. I like the idea of both Thranduil and Celeborn still keeping around. :)
