Aearwen's Little Bits - Lost and Found

Another week of writing on things that won't appear in here for a while...
I finished a new short story to be entered in one of the monthly challenge contests; I finished a chapter each in "I Dhaerlend Dadui: Avathar" and "Strange Melodies" - submitting IDD to the Lizard Council and having received requisite nit-picking and concrit, which I will be doing to SM as soon as I impliment the revisions in IDD; edited the 3 parts of an O-fic novel temporarily entitled "Phoenix" so that my daughter could read/concrit/beta them and then maybe brainstorm with me to get that one completed.
So my Muse is active; trust me. I just have promised myself that I won't post anymore stories until they are completed and through the concrit/beta process. The only exception to that is "In The House of Elrond" - and I just finished a three-part chapter for that one too a week or so ago. I also have 2/3s of a new chapter for "Changeling" (the sequel to "Light Fingers" and "Elladaniel") and about 3/4s of a new episode/story in the Thranduil & Elara saga entitled "The Elvenking's Lady". On the latter, I'm having to think hard about just how explicit I intend to get while writing the events of that story.
Also, FanFiction is being a pain today, for a change: it won't accept any uploads. So I'm waving to my FFN fans who have been directed to read updates here when they don't show up there on time. The short story I would have uploaded there today was put up in here a very long time ago. (And if I knew how to do links properly, I'd send you to it from this; but since I don't...) As soon as FFN gets their collective tuki (plural of tukus) in gear, "Settling Old Scores" will be there too.
Anyhoo, all this preamble for a 100-word drabble. Hope you enjoy it.
He roused, seeking It yet not finding. Where was It? Where was he? Where was Its weight 'round his neck? Where was Its voice in his mind, his heart?
Hot rocks singed him and gave no rest, no haven. Memories of putting It on, of Gollum's teeth biting It off - they were lies, weren't they? It had fallen into fire - hadn't he?
Lost without It, he wandered into a grey land of shadow and nightmare.
A sweet voice called forth, one that found Frodo and called him back to who he was: a mere hobbit of the Shire.
