From the top of his tower, he looked down upon the armies that he had amassed. And soon, he would have the Halflings in his grasp, and with them, the One Ring.
Then he would finally be able to do what he and the others of his order had been tasked to accomplish. With the One Ring in his possession, nothing could stop him, and even Sauron himself would have to bow to Orthanc.
There had been enough of Councils, enough half-measures. Elrond, Galadriel and Olórin were fools. Soon enough, all of Middle-earth would bow to him: Saruman the White!
