Countdown Meme - Day 2

No, I'm not doing this on consecutive days. I'm not that good a blogger/writer anymore. But I will keep plugging away at this thing as time and incentive allow.
So...
Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
Day 2 - Nine things you do everyday
Day 3 - Eight things that annoy you
Day 4 - Seven fears/phobias
Day 5 - Six songs that you’re addicted to
Day 6 - Five things you can’t live without
Day 7 - Four memories you won’t forget
Day 8 - Three words you can’t go a day without
Day 9 - Two things you wish you could do
Day 10 - One person you can trust
1. Feed the fish. JJ has a fishtank - one that nicely covers up a fireplace that can no longer be used - and tends to overfeed if left to it. At 26 gallons, it's a PITA to tear down to clean simply because there's left-over food from weeks past at the bottom. So that means that Mom had to take over the responsibility. Yippee. Color me enthused. Not.
2. Check my online stuff. Email, Facebook, LiveJournal, and I read the news at HuffPost.com and Truthout.org. So much of my life is lived online these days.
3. Try to make a difference, somewhere, somehow, even if it's just posting a joke or sharing a photo of the beauty of Nature on Facebook. So much of Real Life™ nowadays is a downer: news of tragedy, calamity, injustice and such are everywhere. So I see it as my job to make my little corner of the world - here in the house, and in my online spaces - a place of peace, serenity, a little snark and humor, and just generally a place where folks can let out a breath and know themselves safe from the other crap in the world for a moment or two.
4. I tell my family I love them. I've learned that this is a capability that canNOT be taken for granted; there is no promise whatsoever that it will be there in the next moment. I say it often, and I mean it.
5. I drink cranberry juice. I have a horrible tendency to come down with UTIs at the drop of a hat, mostly when I forget to drink enough water over the course of a few consecutive days. A nice 12oz. glass of cranberry juice in the morning tips my body chemistry just enough that the bugs have a harder time gaining a foothold.
6. I play with and scritch and cuddle my kitty Sadie. She's Bengal, she's ADD, and she's smart enough to know that a claw gently inserted into the skin at the back of the arm gets my attention very quickly; I'm smart enough to know to give her the attention and scritches she thinks she needs before I end up with a claw in the back of my arm.
7. I write; OR, if the Muse is being uncooperative (or has taken another of her extended cruises to Puerto Vallarta,) I read. I've always been a bookworm, and my desire to write comes from wanting to see the stories I want to read and not being able to find them. Or because a TV/Movie/Book creator leaves a hole in their story that begs to be filled.
8. I play LOTRO. Yes, folks, Aeärwen is an unapologetic video gamer, and has been for a good many years.
9. I try to work on not letting chronic pain affect the way I live my life. I still play the piano and reach up to turn pages. I'm now crafting on a peg loom and, I'm hoping, the movement will give my arms enough endurance that I can start to think about practicing on my harp. I get up and walk so that my knees don't freeze up (like they seem to want to do lately.) Arthritis is a pain, literally and figuratively, but I try not to let it dictate anymore of my life than I can humanly allow.
There ye go. Enjoy.
