One of the very first drabbles I ever wrote, from back in the days of working towards my Stubborn Limpet Award. Enjoy!

“Tell me again why we’re doing this?”

“Because she’s grown complacent, Estel – she thinks you’ve become tame.”

“She knows better!”

“Really? What happened to your plans for a week’s hunting with the ambassador from Rhûn”

“That was different. Eldarion was sick…”

“Estel, how many OTHER healers are in Minas Tirith?”

“She prefers I handle all the children’s ills.”

“Lap dog.”

“I am not!”

“Prove it!”

“I don’t know – are you certain this will wash out, Elladan?”

“Of course it will – eventually – won’t it Elrohir?”

“Come on - trust us, Estel. Would we lead you astray?”

“Yes.”

“Well…?”

“Valar. I’m doomed.”

The Stubborn Limpet Award is an in-house challenge at the Garden of Ithilien on-line writer's workshop site. To win one, a person has to write a minimum of 100 new words per day for 100 consecutive days.

After playing with an original novel for a bit, I decided to finish the rest of the about 80 days' worth by writing a daily drabble. It was a very interesting discipline to get into - I made myself work on my drabble before I could work on anything else (I think I was writing either Light Fingers or Elladaniel at the time.)

I felt like I'd actually accomplished something when I got my award, believe me! I'd upload the graphic I was given as my reward, but ImageCave is acting up...

That is a great way to keep writing. Good for you, I'd never manage it!

This is a fun piece, even if a very different side to the Aearwen that I know and love.

I have always thought that Arwen had the capability of having both a sharp tongue and perhaps less understanding of her husband. She is, after all, Elrond's daughter and Galadriel's grand-daughter. She was sharp of wit, and fully capable of being... erm... strong-minded?

And I could easily see her brothers pranking her by enlisting Estel's assistance after she moved to Minas Tirith. But I also could see Estel knowing he was getting himself into trouble, as he's quite experienced with his brothers' pranks from before.

He's right: he's doomed. :-D

This is great fun,
Oh my, for Estel.....

But good siblings need to keep their sibling on his toes.... You can't let one become too tamed, now, can you ;-)

Loved it :-)
