She was a very uncompromising personality, and was given plenty of cause to become self-serving. Between the way the other Valar treated her and Melkor's betrayal, I doubt anyone save Eru Himself would have remained unscarred.
I'm glad I'm making her understandable, even tho I don't excuse her actions. That's what I was aiming for.
