For what it's worth, I have actually written one new drabble since my complaint last week that I still hadn't tried. I'd like to think I could do more - but I'm being nice and letting my Muse rest after she gave me a whole novel (all 40k words of it) in less than two weeks.

Next week I'll start expecting more of her.

And this week's drabble is being posted especially for [livejournal.com profile] pandemonium_213, after I mentioned it in a message and she said she hadn't seen it. Too late, I remembered that the only place I'd ever posted this was in the writer's workshop that I walked away from some months ago.

Pandë, this is for you:

With no warning, the very ground began to shake and the air of the city filled with the keening of those in fear of their lives.

Alatar dashed outside his hall, set on a rise overlooking the sprawling city, just in time to see the tall, dark spires of the central temple dedicated to the Dark Lord tip in upon themselves and come crashing down, killing all caught within the dark walls.

A cleaner air lifted white hair and billowed blue robes. The wizard smiled, knowing his time had come.

At last his work - and Pallando's - could begin.

Fresh Start

So That's where the two blue wizards were the entire time???? Holy moly, took'em long enough to get to work! One wonders what they did after that, did they see Olorin or Radagast???

Ponders, and love the chapter!

This makes me wonder what led up to the earthquake and how they'd established themselves in the city before the earthquake and how they knew the earthquake would occur (dream warning?) and what their plans after it would be.

You could write an entire novel around this.

Exxxxxcellent! Nicely ambiguous end there, too. Thanks so much for making this public. Yep, that's a fine seed crystal for a fuller story.

o_O I am in awe. And having been privileged to read the drafts, your Muse was en fuego!

There's much hope in your drabble - I love it!

It's strange that Tolkien just discarded them like he did. Must have been one of those corners of the painting that he wanted other hands to fill in. :-)

Your tantalizing peak into where the Blue Wizards were after they sailed from Aman is fascinating! That plot bunny isn't nibbling, I think he's one of those huge Dutch things that weigh 25 pounds, and he's going to jump you and sit on your chest (shedding all the while, hope you don't have allergies!) till you take on the Wizards' story!

Wow, you were really blazing to knock out a 40K word novel in two weeks -- congratulations! And many more such conflagrations, especially with Gilraen!

Write on!
