Remember I said that Real Life™ was being an obstacle? Well, I have a much greater appreciation of just how much of an obstacle it's proving to be. Between the need to continue working getting music ready for rehearsals for our Christmas Program in Halcyon, taking JJ first to a doctor and then to get his foot x-rayed because he managed to hurt it somehow, and myriad other small errands that don't look all that big but each of which takes a chunk of time away, I was unable to sit down and really concentrate Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Finally, today, nothing was pending.

And at least I made some progress. I should be able to do much the same tomorrow, as I only have one obligation that will pull me away from the keyboard. Friday and Saturday I'm hoping I can have productive afternoons.

I'm also using a new program on a trial basis, and I'm really liking it. When this is over, one way or the other, I'll be buying Scrivener and start using it instead of Word for my writing projects. I'm just hoping the trial version I've installed will last until after NaNo is finished, because I'd really hate to have to hassle with that beforehand.

Anyhoo, folks, here's today's progress report:

My encounter with Real Life™ as an obstacle to NaNo continues apace. I had the entire morning planned as a writing time - but NO!!! JJ has to decide, after he gets to work, that his ankle hurts too much for him to spend all day on it (okay - I can understand that a bit, but still...) so I lost over an hour in commute time driving the 25 miles down and 25 miles back to pick him up. No, he didn't feel like he could walk back to the bus stop (that's right in front of the job site) and take the bus home and have me pick him up at this end's bus stop. No, I had to drop everything and drive down there now, now, now.

*sigh*

There are times that Attention Deficiency Disorder can be a real PITA. We got the call back on the x-ray - no fractures and no broken bones. So this is either a sprain or something else. He *does* have a rather long-lived bruise on the ankle-bone, so something is going on. But I honestly think that he's milking it for as much attention as he can get - and right now, that doesn't sit very well. He goes back to work tomorrow - and no, I will not be driving down again to pick him up if he decides he hurts too much.

Anyhoo, so I did finally get to write some - although not as much as I was hoping. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow.
