I just GOTTA show off...

Every once in a while, one hears from a reader who then proceeds to make a person feel like they're walking on air. A couple of days ago, a reader did exactly that to me.

She had read in here when I did my 2010 Fanfiction Year in Review, my list of things I would love to see illustrated - and then she went ahead and gave me one of the illustrations I had said I would like. She is a very talented lady, and I was overwhelmed by the idea that she liked "In The House of Elrond" well enough to take the time to do such a fantastic job of illustration.

In order to not encumber the screens of those with narrow setting, I'm gonna put it under the cut - but do take a look. Needless to say, I'm working on acquiring the original, which I will frame and hang on my wall. There are few finer ways to tell a writer you appreciate their work than this, I swear.

This has got to be one of the hardest things I've ever written. But, thanks to the insistence of nierielraina, who pushed me hard to do what needed to be done for the sake of the story, I think this is one of the better pieces of writing I've done.
