Aearwen's Little Bits - Reflections

OK, so maybe I need to post just a little bit of angst today. Drabbles tend to lend themselves to that so well...

Elrohir leaned on the ship's railing, his face turned aft watching the dark line of Middle-earth sink out of sight. "Did we do the right thing?"

"Second thoughts, brother?"

"Always." He gave Elladan a twisted smile. "I am the thoughtful one, just as you are the rash one."

"You both know we could not stay." Celeborn's voice was soft. "And yet, what will those we left do now? Did we abandon them?"

"Thranduil remains, determined never to leave; and those who remain know to find him."

"I will miss the Second-born," Elrohir sighed.

"As will I."

Celeborn remained silent. Torn.

Oh, this one just hurts. That the three of them will be so torn, and that Thranduil will stay behind and never see Legolas or his own father again. I have tears in my eyes.

Argh, I wish they could turn the boat around and kidnap Thranduil and get him and the others to Valinor Stat!

Just picturing a kidnapped Elvenking... :P Could you imagine the conversation between the kinsmen then? Heh..

As this takes place before IDD, what is the time frame for Thranduil in leaving Ennor? How many years will have passed then?

Hugs and Love,
Vanime

In IDD proper, Thranduil has been in Valinor only seventy-five years before the events of the story begin.

But a kidnapped Thranduil on his way to Aman???

Oooo! You do like to sic plot bunnies on my, don't you? I'll have to get even repay you with a drabble, methinks... :-D
