Taking a step up

Well, that writer's group isn't on YaHell - and it is an absolutely delightful group of people who know what the heck they're about. I have a serious notion that I'm going to be learning a lot about the art of writing now, and that when I look back at these first offerings, I'm gonna be wishing I could hide my head.

Life-wise, everything is SOS-DD. We made it through an absolutely scorcer of a heat-wave - spent 4 days in treble digits when we normally don't get much hotter than 75 Farenheit. Our fog is back, which is the reason why we're back to our lovely weather-wimpy temps. I just about died, my hubby was miserable, and even my cat wasn't speaking to anybody. This part of the country should NEVER get that hot!!!

Youngest boy & his fiancee have moved back their wedding date (yet again) to February, but the plans they're putting together now are far more reasonable and realistic. Puppy with broken front leg managed to pull her cast off - ended up costing them another hefty vet bill to get it put back on again. Not certain if leg broke again or not, and haven't had the brains to remember to ask when they're about.

I <3 my online writers group. They're the bomb. :)

If only Kentucky could stay in the reasonable 70s in the Summertime! Maybe we'd all be happier. LOL Triple digits and high humidities with no rain are normal here. We've not had any yet, but July is just around the corner...:sigh:

Having summers that are neither overly damp nor hotter than Hades is half the reason why it would take about five sticks of dynamite to blast me outta this place. Besides, when I talk to Rain and tell her my poinsettia outside has "only" reached four feet high, hearing her say "I hate you!" makes me chuckle.

Just wish I could share all the lemons that are gonna have to get chucked when Lee finally trims away the 1/2 lemon tree that fell in the winter windstorms. They're almost sweet enough to eat off the tree, and big enough that one of them makes enough for a lemon meringue (sp). I shipped a few to Bruce Barker once (remember him?) - they were bigger than most grapefruit in the stores...

mmmmmmm Lemons!!!

God, I'd forgotten all about Bruce Barker! Talk about a blast from the past :D

Hey you!

I friended you. Hope that's okay! And I haven't had a chance to get at your Teitho story yet. I slept half the day due to the new pain meds. I'm going back to the old that don't knock me out. I should have it to you by tomorrow at the latest, as I plan on tackling it now. *grin*

Smiles

Hey there yourself! Good to see you! Of course I don't mind!

Best that you take it easy. I'm just glad your Dr gave you some time off, in case the pain meds wipe you out. I hate them dratted things - to the point that I only take the prescription stuff when I REALLY hurt. The rest of the time I just suck air when it twinges and ignore it when it doesn't.
