Happy Easter
For those who celebrate a holiday today, a gift from my garden to you:

Bless its little heart, this plant thrives on the utter lack of care and pampering that it's been getting for the last twenty years. The plant itself looks like the dickens when not in bloom - but boy-o-boy, when it decides to put on a show...

Not to be considered second-best, my old-fashioned cabbage rose got a decent trimming in January, and is now letting us know that it's a happy camper too.

So... Whether one celebrates Beltain (a little early), Easter, Pesach, or whatever - enjoy the season of New Life.

The rose is wonderful, too, especially with the contrast of the light green leaves of the plants behind it.

And yea, I'm really proud of that sweet old cabbage rose. FWIW, BTW, the light green leaves behind it are the leaves of one of my two orange trees. As you can see, it's loaded with fruit. As this property is on the original adobe soil, and enjoying the benefits of the closest thing to Yavanna's own garden when it comes to climate, I have blossoms, green and ripe fruit on my citrus trees at all times of the year (which is anything but usual.)
