Health Update

For any who are interested...

My nose is broken, and my left wrist/hand has either a small bone chip or a small fracture at the very tip of the ulna. Am in a splint that makes me very clumsy, and it still aches a lot - as does the nose. I have a LOVELY shiner, and a cut above the left eye - altho the pool of blood left on the pavement was definitely from the nose.

Anyhoo, piano playing is definitely out for the nonce, and I'm a bit spacey and quick to tire. Chiropractor tells me I probably was concussed as well, but only mildly since I never lost consciousness or saw stars or anything. He treated me for a slight whiplash today, and will check me over again tomorrow for the rest.

Typing hurts, so will probably be very quiet for a while.

Thanks to all who offered good wishes.

I tripped over one of those cement parking stopper berm thingees and did a full face-plant into the asphalt in front of the beauty salon where my daughter works. Laid there for a while yelling for her for help, as she had gone into a back room to eat her lunch. She finally came out, helped me sit up against the front tire of my car, got freaked by the little pool of blood gushing from my nose, called the EMTs. I refused to go to the hospital in an ambulance (an ungodly expense, even just for the three blocks transport - I know, because one of my other kids was transported 1 block and had a US$1500 bill to show for it after.) Ended up at an urgent care doctor the next day for the wrist, and again a week later for an upper right rib (cracked or bruised.)

Now, several weeks later, I'm out of the wrist brace and back to playing piano. My black eye has mostly faded - altho if you look closely, that shadow beneath it doesn't match the one under my right eye. The rib doesn't pain me much at all, and the wrist only aches when I try to turn the hand over further than it's ready to go. No strength in that wrist either now - making cooking pretty hard - guess I'm gonna have to work on that.

I'm mending, though - and that's the good thing.

Good to see you here more often now. You were missed, you know...

Arg! I cringed just reading about it. You poor thing, sorry :-/ Money should not be an issue for medical anything imho, perhaps I'm just too much of a socialist freedom hating left wing cannabis advocate? Well Fox News would say I was...

So glad you are on the piano again. My favourite instrument that I love to hear any song I like done on piano, always wish I'd kept up with my lessons as a kid but staying at home watching The Young Ones was too much of a pull *sigh*
